Our end-of-life hospice care is licensed, regulated and inspected per state and government regulations and covers medication, medical equipment and home assistance.

And our services are covered by Medicare and Medicaid and available to everyone regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay.

We understand and appreciate that the needs of our patients and their families change during the different phases of their end-of-life care.

Rights for the Patient

Prior to treatment, our patients will be informed of their rights and obligations in writing. These rights include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Right to privacy.
We need to ask you questions by law in order to provide you with the best quality care and to make sure payments to Medicare and Medicaid patients are correct. You can choose not to answer our questions, at which point, we will answer them to the best of our ability. Any information you provide to us is confidential and only those who have a medical need to know will see your information. You also have the right to see the information you provided to us and to make any changes.

In addition to those standards, we follow ethical guidelines and standards to ensure you receive the highest care, respect, dignity, and compassion.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do We Really Need Hospice Care?

End-of-life care will never be pleasant to discuss but certainly necessary especially for those who are faced with the pain of losing a loved one. It shouldn’t be a last minute option especially if comfort is the last gift we can bequeath to the one in pain.

By enhancing the quality of life, we will maintain dignity to the client and bring peace of mind to everyone.

Home health services allow people who are disabled, elderly, or injured to live as independently as possible at home despite their medical condition. Being able to recover at home, in a familiar, safe, and comfortable environment, has been shown to reduce hospitalizations, falls, medication errors, and other mishaps. As an intermittent service, home health care can educate both patients and caregivers on the correct procedures for transfers, wheelchair use, medication timing, and all other aspects of daily living.

Along with teaching and interventions, care professionals also connect patients to resources in their community that promote their well-being and foster their recovery.

  • When is Hospice Required?

Hospice focuses on quality of life and not treatment or cure. LifeGuard Hospice Care providers alleviate physical, emotional, spiritual and social discomforts during end-of-life stages and will continue tending toward our patients as long as they remain eligible under a doctor’s care. We administer medications, treat symptoms, offer day-to-day care, provide medical equipment, and offer bereavement counseling throughout our patient’s journey with respect to their final wishes.

Once a referring physician or other licensed practitioner refers a patient for hospice care, our hospice personnel will assess the patient’s eligibility for services based upon the patient’s condition or the physician’s orders within 24 hours.

  • How Much Does it Cost?

For most, the cost of hospice care which includes medications, medical equipment, home assistance, is fully covered by Medicare/Medicaid.

If not, our service is available to anyone regardless of insurance coverage or financial capability.

  • How Do We Begin?

After we receive the referral from the doctor, we will visit the patient regardless of their living arrangements. This means even a patient living in a nursing facility or a long-term care facility can benefit from our medical care.

Our care will continue as long as the doctor certifies patient eligibility.
